Rector Candidates

St. John’s Anglican Church, Salt Lake City, Utah, is seeking a part-time Rector.

We seek a church builder who will not only increase our numbers but also deepen our faith.

The ideal candidate:

  • is a firm, yet compassionate shepherd who manifests qualities consistent with Christ and His teachings—a leader who follows the Lord.
  • is grounded in the Anglican Faith and believes in the Bible as God’s Word
  • will not affirm us as we are but will challenge us to be better
  • inspires us to strive to make every moment of the week part of our sacrifice of praise and a continuation of the liturgy we celebrate on Sunday
  • is active in the secular community but who does not conform to it.

St. John’s serves the Salt Lake Valley in Northern Utah, home to the University of Utah, the state capitol, and fast-growing technology and medical sectors. See our Congregation Profile for more details.

We are looking for the person that God has called to be our Rector and who knows in his heart that Jesus is his Lord and that St. John’s is where he is called to serve. Our new Rector should know the Holy Spirit and is led by Him through a strong prayer life and is able to discern God’s plan for St. John’s and lead us into that vision; someone who is able to present inspired Bible-based sermons and to encourage others to use their spiritual gifts.
